All human in this world are given same basic abilities by Allah. The basic abilities given by Allah for all human are gharizah and mind. Mind is a basic ability given by Allah just for human. Other Allah’s creations like angles and animals aren’t given mind. That is why human is called by the perfect creation of Allah. By using their mind human can think and differ which is right and which is wrong. Besides it, by it human have ability to take decision what they have to do or not. If they use it in right way it will lead them to reach high level beside Allah. Even they could reach higher level than angles. Subhanallah... However if they can’t use their mind to think in right way, it will lead them to low level in front of Allah. Even it could be in lower level than animals. Na'uzubillah...
Mind can be defined as ability to think and make decision or process of thinking. Some people and even experts consider that mind is a part of human body. Some of them suppose that mind is brain and the others suppose that mind is heart. If mind is brain or heart, then how about brain and heart that animals also have it. Animals have brain and heart but they don’t have ability to think. What they have is just ability to differ one from others according to what they feel. For example, they just can feel that something is hot or cold; they can taste something can be eaten or not, etc. However, they just can do it, feel, taste and be familiar with it. They can’t determine further about something that they feel or taste. Surely ability belong to animals to differ one from others according to what they feel or taste is something called by instinct. Instinct is different from mind. Although animals have brain as human, but their brain can’t be used to save memories as human’s brain. That is why instinct of animals is different from mind of human. Then, what is mind that human posses which make them as the perfect creation of Allah?
Mind is not a part of human body, but it is collection of four components, namely: fact, sensory, brain and information related to the fact. Mind is ability to connect all of those components. From fact or reality that can be caught by sensory of human then it will be transferred to the brain. The brain of human has a part that can save memories or information. Therefore, if the fact has been transferred to the brain and the brain has saved information related fact, a thinking process in the brain will occur. Finally, human will have ability to make decision about that fact. The result of their thinking process is that human can determine what they should do related to the fact they get or they can know the essence of that fact. Consequently, mind will be so important for human to differ whether something is right or wrong and to know further about fact that they get. An important function of mind for human is to think of laws of Allah. So, they can learn Allah's rules, understand it and apply it in their life. They can use it to solve any problems they face in this life by taking Allah's rules.
